Finding Balance Again With AM Routines & A Cup of Tea

Tea has been enjoyed by many people throughout the centuries, starting in countries like China and India where the Camellia sinensis plant grows and thrives. Whether it is white, green, or black, the tea leaf provides a dose of caffeine, antioxidants, and forces you to stop and slow down in order to really bask in the flavor while taking a small sip of the beverage.

As of late, I have been coming to yet another crossroads in my life, where the concept of balance keeps coming up again and again. I think often, that if we keep seeing repeating messages, perhaps it is some point that the universe is trying to get across to us, in order to further our self-development and fulfill the purpose we have on this planet.

So, I have started a morning routine, involving going to the smallest room to take care of things, followed by waking up with a cup of tea or hot cocoa. Next, I enjoy some meditation time, and focus on what three things I want to accomplish for the day. Afterward, I take a breath, and dive into my day.

Occasionally, my routine includes the taking of a cold shower, which I find to be an ultimate test in mind over matter. I find that a cold shower really forces the self to focus on your inner vision and reflect on what is really important in life. And yes, one must focus on being in the moment while taking a shower, because so often, we find ourselves somewhere else and not actively present in the moment.

What do you do to find your sense of balance?

Remember, life is a journey, not a race or destination.
