Unfortunately for many of us, we are too busy chasing the dreams and lives of other people, all in the name of trying to become successful. It is only when we realize that we are all born with different circumstances, interests, and identities, and allow ourselves to “just be ourselves” that the path to our success begins to unfold before us. We must remember that what works for one person, may not be the best fit for us.
In our currently fast paced world, obsessed with social media gossip, celebrities, and looking over the shoulders of others to see who is doing better or worse… We are competing against the very elements that would allow our inner potential to blossom and reach a peak. We cannot be successful when we seek to live by others’ definitions of success and expectations.
In order to be successful, we must first know thyself. We must take time out to be introspective, reflect on our true innate nature, and understand how we are built. Secondly, we must be able to define what it is that we truly desire to achieve, and how we want to live out our lives. We must hold fast to the values of integrity, respecting knowledge and wisdom, and enjoy the beautiful struggle that overcoming challenges brings, shaping our character.
If you do not know who you are, what you want, and what you are capable of, you will never be successful. Achievements are not the same as success. Desiring false ideas that do not fit our being and core values, will only leave us feeling frustrated, drained, and more confused as to what we are doing wrong, and how we must reinvent ourselves in order to finally arrive at success.
Successful lives are fully realized lives, constantly adapting to the state of universal flux, seeking growth, recognizing highs and lows, and can only be determined by ourselves and no external being or force.
