Whether you work at a company, or work for yourself…your health is your wealth. Valuing your health should be of upmost importance, as it is something that you should protect and maintain with positive mindset, exercise, and a good diet. Sometimes, no matter what, we find that our immune system is feeling a little run-down. Sore throats are a pretty common phenomenon, thanks to our tonsils capturing virus and bacteria before they can do further damage to our bodies.
There are 3 simple natural remedies that I have listed, to help ease the discomfort of a sore, scratchy irritated throat. To your health!
- The Sea Salt Gargle
Specifically, you want to make sure you use sea salt for this remedy, as sea salt naturally pulls out impurities. Take 8 ounces of warm to steaming hot water, and mix in 3 to 4 teaspoons of sea salt. Stir the salt until it dissolves into the water. Gargle a few times a day with this solution for about 5 to 10 minutes each time. You will find that your throat will not be so troublesome within a short while. Avoid using scalding hot water, as the high temperature liquid will burn your already irritated tissues.
In addition to being a colorful and mildly spicy additive to dishes, paprika has properties which help heal sore throats. Take a teaspoon or two of paprika and dissolve it into warm to hot water. Gargle with the solution whenever you feel your throat is being a pain in the neck.
- ACV, Honey & Lemon
This is a 3 ingredient solution to a sore throat. First, pour out 1 to 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and swallow. Follow up your dose of ACV, with a teaspoon of honey. Look for honey that is of the highest grade and preferably organic. Vegans can opt to use a spoonful of molasses or a high grade of maple syrup, in place of honey. After you take your spoonfuls down, sip some lemon water, preferably steeped before hand, with an addition of honey or other sweetener if you like. This is best taken in the morning and at night right before bed.
Protecting your health is important, especially when the weather is changing, or if life demands are stressing us out. Take time to reduce your stress, drink more water, engage in activities that relax you, and utilize inexpensive healthy ingredients to maintain your health. Keep natural immune boosting elements in your kitchen, like sea salt, paprika, apple cider vinegar, and lemon.
Keep your eyes peeled for other sources of natural remedies to boost your health and cure your current conditions. The power of Vitamin C is found within citrus fruits. Spices like garlic, pepper, and chili powder, and many others provide not only flavor and color to our meals, but healthful properties to bring our body back into balance.
Take the time out in your busy schedule, to occasionally unplug, and take care of your health. A healthy you, is a happier and more productive you.
To Your Health!
